Welcome...

St. Petersburg is one of the most beautiful and attractive cities in the world, The North capital of Russia, The Venice of the North, The city of white nights, marvelous embankments and splendid palaces. It is famous for its culture and architecture. Numerous museums, theatres, concert-halls, cinemas, and exhibitions are open for visitors. Who haven't heard about "White Nights" which take place only in St.Petersburg? At summer time, you can be eyewitness of this amazing scene of nature. Nothing can be compared with night walks around a lit city as at daytime, and watching the beautiful sight of opening drawbridges.

St.Petersburg is not only cultural centre but also a well-known centre of science and education. There are more than 40 government universities and institutes with nearly 300000 students from 100 countries. They get knowledge from highly qualified teachers who are well known around the world.

Saint Petersburg is the second largest Metropolitan city of Russian federation. It was the official capital of Russia before it was named Leningrad (after the communist leader Lenin). In 1991, after a citywide referendum, the city of Leningrad got back its old name Saint Petersburg.

The city is about 300 years old and represents the center of Russian intelligence and culture in the European region of Russia. St. Petersburg was the source of inspiration for greatest poets and authors the world has ever known. The most figural among them are Dostoevsky, Leo Tolstoy and Alexander Pushkin who lived and loved this city from their childhood. Not to mention all the world-renowned scientists and researchers who spent their lives here.

Peter the Great, founder of the city created a piece of Europe in 1703 hoping to absorb the best from its neighboring European countries. It was a daring move in the history of Russia and when the city flourished after few decades, people named it "the gate to Europe". In fact the city proves its name to this day for people here truly enjoy relative prosperity. It will be well in place to mention that Finland is 6 hours drive; German, Holland, England and France not more than 3 hours flight form this city.

There are number of Universities located in different parts of the city some of which have exceptional reputation in the world. Our company has very good contacts with few of them. They are as follows:

  1. St. Petersburg State Medical Academy named after Mechnikov
  2. St. Petersburg State Medical Academy named after Pavlov
  3. St. Petersburg State Pediatrics Medical Academy
  4. St .Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation
  5. St. Petersburg State Marine Technical University
  6. St. Petersburg State University for waterways communication

Students who finished their higher academic careers in Saint Petersburg recall that it as the most memorable period of their lives. The environment of the city is most suitable for learning minds. Not only the history but also our own experience proves the fact.

When you study in Russia, you are likely to find yourself meeting students from all over the world. Many countries are represented on campus and each student makes a unique contribution to the life of the institution, both academically and culturally.

After receiving the degree of Doctor in Medicine, many young foreign specialists stay back to continue their training for post-graduation studies in the clinics of distinguished scientists and remarkable doctors like academicians Petrovskiy, IIizarov, Chazov and others.

The Russian higher medical Universities occupy the leading position in the world. They are internationally rated by the UNESCO, World Health Organization (WHO) and many of the medical Councils of the world.

The world's leading medical scientists enter the various lecture halls and the wards of clinics to give their knowledge and vast practical experience to more than 1,70,000 students inclusive of foreigners from more than 80 countries of the world, including India, who study in various medical universities every year.

The question of choosing a higher educational institution is always real for applicants. Good education and professional training of high quality open great perspectives for a student because of his high competitive abilities, as a specialist.

Centuries of experience and achievements of the Russian education are recognized all over the world. Among 34 leading Universities of Europe, defined by the independent expertise of Gorman Organization (USA), 11 are Russian.

Over the last century the Higher Schools of Russia produced about 30 million highly qualified specialists. Among its graduates are: prominent scientists and scholars, winners of international and home awards, Nobel Prize laureates. The list of research areas in which brilliant discoveries were made is impressive: guided thermonuclear fusion, laser technology, robotics, non-linear optics, new chemical and biological technologies etc. Due to the extraordinary achievements of our scientists and engineers mankind has made major breakthrough in outer space.

Foreign students can get higher education in many cities of Russia: Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Volgograd and other cities. Many students, however, prefer to study in Saint-Petersburg. This city was chosen by 50% of foreign students. Since 1724 Saint-Petersburg has become the leading scientific and educational center of Russia. At present, there are more than 50 state higher educational institutions in the city.

To get admitted in the university the students should complete secondary education. The academic year is divided in 2 semesters. The first semester starts on 1st of September and ends on 24th of January. After that students have 2 weeks' winter holidays. The second semester starts on the 7th of February and lasts till the 1st of July. Summer holidays include 2 months - from the 1st of July till the 1st of September.

Since the first days and during the whole period of education all the difficulties of student's adaptation to a new country are taken into account. Arriving in Russia, students enter the preparatory faculty at the best universities. The duration of the course is about 38 weeks (one academic year). The aim of the course is to form general knowledge, necessary for studying adjacent disciplines later. Classes begin with learning of Russian language. In 2 months they will begin studying Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Language of science, history and drawing. This program gives foreign students the possibility to speak Russian in the level, necessary to get a Certificate that opens the door of the universities in Russia.

At the preparatory faculty you can choose among 3 profiles of education: medico-biological, technical and humanitarian. Admittance to the preparatory faculty lasts from the 1st of September till 31st of December. Classes start according to the group staffing (5-10 people in a group).

It is recommended to come to Russia for studying at the preparatory faculty by the end of September - beginning of October. Arriving later you will have to find additional time and some intensive educational courses to catch the group (the educational programs are worked out professionally to help the student, coming late, to get knowledge in the full volume, according to the strictly controlled program by the Russian government).

After completing the preparatory faculty, students can continue their studies at the same University or change it, if they want to. You can do it with the help of AK Education and Career Consultants..

Admittance of documents to the 1st year of the University according to the test results, takes place from the 25th August till the 1st October (we recommend you to arrive from the 25th August till 5th September). Foreign students can study in Russian, English and French languages.

One of the leading and prestigious medical universities, which teaches students in Russian and English medium and offers postgraduate studies in General Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmaceutical specialties is Saint Petersburg State Medical Academy named after I.I. Mechnikov.

Every University fixes its tuition fees, according to the city, number of students, planned to be admitted, living conditions in a hostel, etc. All the students are guaranteed to live in a comfortable hostel. Apartments are supplied with furniture, bed, kitchen, and bathroom (or shower).

Foreign students are provided with literature, educational supplies and practice materials free of charge. So, all the students will enjoy the best conditions for living and studying in Russia.

Everything that concerns living expenses, according to students' opinions, are estimated to be 100-120 $ per month. Usually students cook breakfast and supper at the hostel, where all necessary conditions for preparing different dishes, even national, are provided. Students have dinner in students' cafes, where they can chose any dish they want, rather cheaply. Low prices in students' cafes are because of the Russian government subsidy.

The supermarkets are full of products from all over the world. The temperature in the cities and towns, mentioned above, in spring (March, April, May) is 10-30 degrees above zero, in summer (June, July and August) it is 25-30 degrees above zero, in autumn (September, October, November) it can be 15-20 degrees above zero, in winter (December, January and February) it is +10/-10 degrees. As African students joke that due to the high humidity in winter, -10C° in Russia is felt easer than +15 in Africa, and +25 in Russia is the same as +40 degrees in Africa. So there is no need to worry about climatic conditions. In cold months constant temperature of +20...+22 degrees is kept by the central heating.

During a week of studies students don't have much time for entertainment, because they are greatly occupied by studies. However, at weekend they have a plenty of possibilities to relax and to regain strength. In every city you can find a kaleidoscope of places for entertainment. There are discotheques, sport complexes, theatres and concert halls at your service. It is also wonderful to walk around the town, visiting places of interest.

Everyone is dreaming to go to another corner of the world to study. Foreign universities attract students not only by high quality of education, but also by their ancient history and interesting traditions.

However, it is necessary to collect all documents in order 1-1,5 months before the studies start, i.e. in July. As a rule, drawing up an invitation via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and an entrance visa from the Russian Embassy in foreign countries take about a month. As soon as all the documents are submitted for drawing up the invitation, it is important to reserve an air- ticket 1-1,5 months beforehand, because many problems can arise in the beginning of the academic year. We recommend to use Aeroflot (Russian international airlines), as this company offers regular flights and considerable ticket discounts for students.

I don't know how to react to your blabberings. I was there in St. Petersberg, with my younger brother, tried to study medicine there. But had to run away from there as skinheads were threatening to kill us. They even tried to push my younger brother (who looks like a child) below metro one day.
How is that for your information cheaters and color haters?
