During existence at the Russian state medical university a number of basic initiatives in the field of the maximum medical formation was successfully realized.

In 1930 for the first time in a world practice in reply to a crisis situation in children's public health services of the country has been created pediatric faculty, here 75 years invariable confirming the necessity to practical public health services.

With 1939 on 1944 in 2ом МОЛГМИ function military faculty which graduates have brought ощутимый the contribution to business of the Great Victory and post-war restoration of public health services.

In 1963г. For the first time in the European practice in connection with registration in a world science of such directions of break as molecular biology, the molecular genetics and biotechnology has been opened medical and biologic faculty, which real value as "smithies" of the corresponding staff for medicine it is realized now during an era геномики, протеомики and cellular biology.

At university are trained more than 500 foreign citizens. Among students a lot of target, having training preparation for needs of public health services of various regions of Russia. On ФУВ and ФПиПКП there has annually training preparation nearby 10 thousand listeners. Учебно-scientifically-medical process is carried out by forces of 1379 teachers and 260 scientific employees, among which 134 professors, 1124 doctors and the candidate of sciences, 2 academicians of the Russian Academy of Science, 32 academicians and 21 corresponding member of Russian Academy of Medical Science, 1 academician of the Russian Open Society, 49 winners of the state premium and premiums of the Government in the field of a science and technics, premiums of the President (1) and the Governments of the Russian Federation (2) in the field of formation, 45 honored workers of a science of the Russian Federation, 15 deserved workers of higher education of the Russian Federation, 93 deserved doctors of the Russian Federation. Many employees are noted by the state awards, the maximum branch award of Ministry of Health a medal " For merits before domestic public health services ", other differences - letters, diplomas, medals of a national and international rank for outstanding achievements in various professional areas of medicine and public health services. Annually in high school it is protected the order of 40 doctor's and 180 master's theses, 20 patents are made out approximately, published the order of 270 textbooks and monographies, including and abroad.
